Begum (AP) (Respondent) v Secretary of State for the Home Department (Appellant) UKSC 2020/0158

On appeal from the Court of Appeal.

While the Court of Appeal has granted the Home Secretary permission to appeal to the Supreme Court against its decision to grant Ms Begum leave to enter the UK, it also decided issues relating to the Home Secretary's decision to deprive Ms Begum of UK citizenship on which both Ms Begum and the Home Secretary sought permission to appeal from the Supreme Court. These applications have now been granted.

The appeals of both Ms Begum and the Home Secretary will be heard over two days, on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 November 2020.

The Court has decided that five justices will hear the appeal. Details of the justices who will hear the case will be published in due course.
